There must've been a sale at the Big 'n Tall store in Aberdeen centre for this matinee game in Richmond because just take a look at this murderers row of Big Men who were not in the lineup for this one. For Richmond: no Al Horford (get used to it) nor JJ Hickson. For Deerfield, no Scola, Kevin Love nor Milicic. Seriously? What confluence of events led us to a cast of bigs where Alexis Ajinca, D-League call-up Thabeet (for RR) and Yi Jianlian and Shelden Williams (for DFD) were prominently involved?
Anyway, to the game, where Richmond jumped out to a first half lead. It was mostly DWade vs Jrue Holiday in this one. Both shot a putrid 5 for 19 but Wade went 10 for 12 from the stripe- Jrue just 4 of 8. DWade also had 10 Rebounds and 9 assists- just narrowly missing the triple double as the do it all man in this one. His only major help came from Ginobili who chipped in with 22 points. Dorell Wright and unheralded role player Gary Forbes had nice games for Richmond.
The Rogues lead dwindled in the 3rd and then was gone for good in the 4th quarter when few of their shots fell in the last few minutes. Can't wait to get our bigs back...
